Checkers (also known as “Dama” or “King”) is a classic strategy game played on a square board consisting of 64 squares (8×8), with alternating light and dark-colored spaces.
Game Overview:
Played between two players, each with 12 pieces of a different color.
Pieces are placed only on the dark squares of the three rows closest to each player.
The objective is to capture all of your opponent’s pieces or block them from making any legal moves.
Basic Rules:
Pieces move diagonally forward by one square only.
If an opponent’s piece is in front of you and the square behind it is empty, you may jump over and capture it.
When a piece reaches the last row on the opponent’s side, it becomes a “King” and gains the ability to move both forward and backward.
The player who captures all of the opponent’s pieces or blocks them from making any legal move wins the game.
