Checkers (also known as “Dama” or “King”) is a classic strategy game played on a square board consisting of 64 squares (8×8), with alternating light and dark-colored spaces.

Game Overview:

• Played between two players, each with 12 pieces of a different color.
• Pieces are placed only on the dark squares of the three rows closest to each player.
• The objective is to capture all of your opponent’s pieces or block them from making any legal moves.

Basic Rules:

• Pieces move diagonally forward by one square only.
• If an opponent’s piece is in front of you and the square behind it is empty, you may jump over and capture it.
• When a piece reaches the last row on the opponent’s side, it becomes a “King” and gains the ability to move both forward and backward.
• The player who captures all of the opponent’s pieces or blocks them from making any legal move wins the game.
